Sharmein. The first time I got my period I hid it from my mom because I was so confused and embarrassed 🤧

Xy. In 6th grade, I didn’t know what to use, so I went for a panty liner the whole day at school.

BT. It’s just me and my Dad. He panicked and told me to sit on the toilet and left me there… I sat there for an hour until he finally came back with napkins 😂

Joy. 10 years old po ako nung time na yun. Di ko po alam ano ibig sabihin nung una. Nahiya po ako sa mga kaklase ko kasi as in nasa school po ako nun 😅 grabe po yung karanasan ko na yun.

Patricia. When I got my first period, I was alone at our house then I saw blood in my undies. I got so scared that I stared at it for hours! My thoughts were, “Omg am I sick? Shall I hide this?”, then when my parents came home, I immediately told them that I needed to see a doctor 🤣 My mom laughed so hard.

MJ. So 10 years old po ako noong first time ko po magkaroon or magka-mens. Di ko pa po siya alam. And that time nasa school po ako nun. Sobrang nahihiya po ako noong mga panahon na yun.

Kinailangan kong magsabi sa teacher ko dahil siya ay babae din at alam kong matutulungan niya ako. Di ko po alam gagawin ko nung time na yun. Sobra po akong nataranta. Grabe pala kapag bata ka, wala ka pang alam sa mga ganoong bagay.

Jejumon. Before ako magkaperiod, I always pray to God na, “Sana po magkaroon na ako.”. Idk why tho!! I’m just worried if I end up not having menstrual period thinking that I am abnormal. I am praying to God like alwaysss girl.

I remember I used to put tissue on my underwear as a napkin to try what it feels like😭😂 It’s weird as hell HAHAHHA KASI MANIPIS. Then the time comes I think its morning, I’m sitting sa monoblock sa living room namin, then I am holding my iPad yata. Pag umuupo kasi ako nakabukaka, pero yung maayos naman at maayos yung suot kong shorts. Then may dumaan sa harap namin na kapitbahay namin nakita yata ako💀💀 then my mom looked at me saying “Nakabukaka ka tignan mo yang ano mo.”.

Then suddenly I saw tagos sa aking suot ng pantylet then yah it happens and I’m shocked and also happy HAHAHAHHA

Liv. The first time I got my period was when I was 11 years old. It was the summer after 5th grade, I remember spending the whole afternoon lying down and watching movies on our laptop almost endlessly.

I had felt weird with my stomach that day, like it was aching for some reason, hindi ko alam na period cramps na pala yun, and so I just ignored it.

Nung gabi na and it was time for dinner, I got up and went to out bathroom to pee first. I looked at my undies and noticed the red, dark-brownish stains, and when I got up from sitting on the toilet and looked at it, may halo na nga na dugo sa ihi ko. A little later, I then realized, I had my first period. I washed and changed my undies after the trip to the bathroom and I didn’t even intend on wearing any pads because I was still a bit dumbfounded, not after my lola reminded me to wear one after I’d told her that night after the incident.

Thankfully, as far I can remember, I didn’t do any period rituals that most of the young women are told to do during their first period.

Betchay. So yes hello, Betchay here. The first time I got my period was back when I was 12 years old. I remember the exact date too! Hahaha it’s November 1st. Actually nakakatawa po ang ganap ko nun kasi it was halloween season and I was a volunteer “mumu” actress for a Horror Tunnel.

I was really busy dressed up and portraying my role there, I was one of the volunteers for the whole shift meaning to say from 6pm to 2am (with dinner break of course). So yeah, I was hooked and enjoying my time scaring the shit out of people missing the subtle signs & symptoms of having a period/menstruation for the first time.

I came home at 2:15am, (well I had the keys to our gate and main door) but I came knocking on my parents’ bedroom after I felt gooey, sore and throbbing down there. My mother was a light sleeper so she heard my knocks and as she went out, she asked me what’s up with me and I told her what I am feeling at the moment, then she asked me to turn around to see my back checking out my walking shorts (partida mala-dirty white to khaki pa ung suot ko talaga) and there she saw na I have “tagos”.

It’s quite visible but then since I was on a horror tunnel, dealing with fake blood stains unto our clothes it just seemed to blend in that even if someone did saw that they wouldn’t think it was a period stain rather they’ll just think I sat up on a fake blood, a part of my costume dress up or something hahaha!

After consulting my mother on what to do, since I was really clueless and since that I was the eldest among my siblings (there’s 2 boys after me and our youngest is a girl too, and was just 5 yrs old that time) so I had no other person to confide to except my mother, I immediately took a bath and soaked my undergarment in bleach and grabbing one of my mother’s supply of napkins. It felt uncomfortable sleeping with it and having the cramps all sinking in to me, it was really indeed a long night for me. Cassy. I was 10 years old and was on 5th grade, that time we were just learning about the reproductive parts, the hell I care 😭 I was 10 and did not know better. It was a Saturday I was doing the usual stuff, playing dress up games online.

I peed and the next thing I knew is that there’s this weird brown stain on my panty. It felt weird and it did not bother me at all so I went back to play online games. I remember changing undies for like 3 times because It was starting to freak me out.

My mama noticed and asked if something’s wrong and I told her that I might be having diarrhea or summn ’cause there’s this brown thing on my panty. She then checked it and said that I’ve just got my period.

We did the whole pamahiin thing where I have to jump 3 steps from the stairs and the gross thing where I have to soak my undies with a soap and use it to wash my face (yes I washed my face with the blood and soap soaked panties so that I won’t have acne prone skin, IT’S A MYTH).
